Artist Brett Parker comes from
the Wiradjuri tribe where his family lived at Brungle Mission near Tumut in
NSW. Brett currently lives on the Central Coast NSW.
Painting for the last eighteen
years, his work is a mix of traditional and contemporary art. It
consists of cross- hatching and dots and expanding into a mix of Western
style with contemporary Aboriginal art. Brett is the winner of several
awards including (2007) NSW Office of Fair Trading Open award - 1st Place,
(2006) NSW Office of Fair Trading Indigenous Artwork Award - 1st Place
His work has been exhibited at
Rogue Gallery, East Gosford Art Gallery, Campellbelltown Art Gallery, Crowne
Plaza Terrigal and NSW Parliament house (2005, 2007) where his most recent
work has been selected for a tour of NSW.
